Welcome to the Eco-footprint Calculator - Measure It To Manage It...


This Eco-Footprint Calculator was developed specifically to reflect Northern Territory and Queensland operating conditions, utilising the Australian Department of Climate Change’s carbon calculation factors. We are now extending it to apply to all Australian states and territories.
 
And its more than just a carbon footprint measurement – it also includes your carbon offsets, credits and initiatives you have, or would like to implement, to reduce your environmental impact. The calculator has been developed with localized costings and circumstances in mind to ensure relevance and practicality to your organisation.  
 

To record this most efficiently, please have beside you the latest copies of, or last year's figures for the following:

  • Your electricity bill – energy types and cost
  • Your fuel use – type, consumption rate and cost
  • Travel distances – road, air and sea
  • Your waste disposal data (either rates notice; waste transfer station bills or in QLD EPA waste tracking forms – proportion of waste by type and whether recycled
  • Your water consumption (again rates notice; bore/meter or allocation figure and costs

 At the end of the form, we would like you to:

  • List any innovations or ‘offsets’ that you currently do to reduce your environmental footprint (impact)
  • List your three proposed actions to reduce your current footprint – from the workshop discussion and options and initiatives paper or other sources.
