The Going Green: Learn, Do & Save workshop series for small to medium sized businesses have been designed to help increase profitability by "greening" operations. The workshops are being delivered in the main centres of the Northern Territory, after their successful completion in Northern Queensland. The workshops give owners and managers the knowledge and skills to employ "green" business practices improving their energy, waste and water management - this ultimately improves the business's profitability and environmental impact. We also offer 12 months of training and coaching to assist participants with the implementation and utilisation of these practices in their business.

If you are interested in the Northern Territory workshops, please follow the instructions below and register for the workshop of your choice.

The facilitators have a significant amount of experience in working with small businesses and on environmental sustainability projects. In addition to the access to our facilitators, participants will also receive:

  • assistance with identifying their business's environmental impact and "eco-footprint" based on ISO 14001 – the International Standard for Environmental Management
  • a mechanism to document and risk assess each of those impacts and determine strategies for mitigation and management
  • assistance with identifying opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of their business's activities with a particular focus on those that provide cost-savings and efficiencies to allow SME's to enhance their bottom-line profits
  • use of a simplified "business layman's" template which will be supplied to all workshop participants, customised for each targeted industry. This template will be a document with practical steps which can be implemented in short, medium and longer time frames
  • use of the template to assist in tracking energy use; waste generation and disposal; printing; transport; water use and other elements within the business
  • progress reports and an analysis of each business's performance against other businesses within its industry and region so they can better benchmark themselves
